The AI4Gov-X project has launched its first cascade funding call aimed at supporting education, skills development, and international activities in the field of artificial intelligence and digital transformation of the public sector.

The call is funded through the Digital Europe Programme and aims to reduce economic barriers for participants engaging in educational and professional activities within the AI4Gov-X ecosystem. Students and professionals from European Union countries, including Slovakia, as well as from other eligible programme countries, are invited to apply.

Support for Participation in Education Activities

The cascade funding call focuses on two main areas. The first is financial support for participation in AI4Gov-X extracurricular activities, including short professional courses, summer and winter schools, and other international educational events focused on artificial intelligence, data spaces, and digital transformation in public administration.

Participants may receive financial support covering costs related to participation in these activities, such as travel, accommodation, or registration fees. The maximum support available is EUR 5,000 per participant.

At the same time, the project is building a flexible educational ecosystem combining online learning, intensive expert programmes, and hands-on experimentation with AI tools in real public sector environments. 

Support for Internships in AI and Digital Transformation

The second part of the call focuses on supporting internships and project-based placements for participants of the upcoming international MagiX Master programme.

The objective is to help participants gain practical experience in organisations operating in the public or private sector.

Under this scheme, participants may receive financial support linked to the implementation of internships, provided that they are enrolled in the MagiX programme and meet additional criteria defined in the call documentation.

Multiple Submission Deadlines

The call operates through rolling cut-off deadlines. The first submission deadline is set for 30 June 2026. Additional deadlines will follow every two months until the available budget is exhausted.

The total allocation of the call exceeds EUR 980,000. The educational activities support scheme enables reimbursement of up to 50% of eligible costs related to participation in AI4Gov-X activities, with a maximum contribution of EUR 5,000 per participant.

Applications must be submitted exclusively online through the GoodGrants platform. The application package includes, for example:

• Europass CV,
• documents confirming participation in AI4Gov-X activities.

About AI4Gov-X

The AI4Gov-X (AI4Gov Accelerate) is a European initiative focused on the use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in the public sector. It responds to the growing need to modernise public services and policymaking through data-driven and innovative digital solutions.

The project focuses on developing the skills of public officials, policymakers, and professionals involved in digital transformation processes within public administration. It helps participants better understand artificial intelligence, apply it in decision-making processes, and implement trustworthy, ethical, and citizen-centred solutions.

AI4Gov-X includes educational programmes, practical tools, and experimental environments enabling the testing of AI solutions in areas such as public services, healthcare, mobility, and education. The project also supports the emergence of a new generation of professionals capable of connecting technology, data, and public policy to improve the effectiveness and modernisation of the public sector.

At the same time, AI4Gov-X opens opportunities for experts, public authorities, companies, and research organisations interested in contributing to the project. Participation is possible through workshops, tool testing, feedback activities, or collaboration on developing solutions for the public sector.
