Artificial Intelligence in the Public Sector: AI4Gov-X Brings New Tools with the Contribution of TUKE

April 2, 2026, Kosice, Slovakia

The AI4Gov-X project brings new opportunities for working with artificial intelligence in the public sector – from experimentation to strategic decision-making. The Faculty of Economics of the Technical University of Košice is also involved in the project, contributing to the integration of education, innovation, and the practical application of AI.

The project is funded by the Digital Europe Programme and brings together more than 40 partners from across Europe. Its objective is to equip professionals, students, and organisations with the skills needed for the effective, responsible, and practical use of artificial intelligence in public policy-making and the delivery of public services.

Practice-Oriented Education

AI4Gov-X introduces a new approach to education in artificial intelligence that goes beyond traditional teaching methods. In addition to online courses and training programmes, it places strong emphasis on hands-on experience and experimentation. The project’s educational model focuses on developing competencies in artificial intelligence, data, digital transformation, and public policy, reflecting the current needs of the public sector in Europe.

AI4Scale Platform for Experimentation

One of the key outputs of the project is the AI4Scale platform, which enables users to work with artificial intelligence in a real digital environment. The platform functions as a sandbox – a secure space for experimentation where users can create and test AI models, work with data, and develop their own projects.

An important feature of the platform is its accessibility, even for users without advanced technical backgrounds, thereby supporting learning through practical experience.

AI4Engine as a Tool for Strategic Decision-Making

Another key component of the project is the AI4Engine platform, which focuses on supporting innovation and strategic decision-making. It enables users to analyse trends, develop future scenarios, and identify new opportunities for innovation.

At the same time, it facilitates connections between users and organisations, creating opportunities for collaboration and new partnerships. The platform combines approaches such as trend analysis, foresight, and matchmaking, contributing to better data-driven decision-making and future-oriented planning.

Upcoming Cascade Calls

The project will also launch cascade calls, through which a wider range of stakeholders will be able to engage in AI4Gov-X activities and gain access to education, tools, and hands-on experience with artificial intelligence.

These calls will target not only students but also public sector professionals, experts, companies, and research organisations. Their aim is to support skills development and the testing of AI solutions in real public sector environments.

Participants will have the opportunity to benefit from a range of educational and capacity-building activities, including an international study programme focused on artificial intelligence, data spaces, and digital governance transformation, as well as short specialised courses and intensive summer and winter schools held in various European cities.

The offer also includes flexible online courses available to a broader audience, enabling participants to progressively build skills and obtain micro-credentials. This approach allows learners to tailor their educational path and gradually develop a professional profile in the field of AI and digital transformation in the public sector.

About AI4Gov-X

AI4Gov-X (AI4Gov Accelerate) is a European project focused on the use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in the public sector. It responds to the need to modernise public services and policy-making through data and innovative digital solutions.

The project focuses on developing the skills of civil servants, policymakers, and professionals involved in the digital transformation of public administration. It helps them better understand artificial intelligence, apply it in decision-making processes, and implement solutions that are trustworthy, ethical, and citizen-oriented.

The project includes educational programmes, practical tools, and experimental environments that enable the testing of AI solutions in areas such as public services, healthcare, mobility, and education. AI4Gov-X also supports the emergence of a new generation of professionals capable of linking technology, data, and public policy to enhance the efficiency and modernisation of the public sector.

In addition, AI4Gov-X opens opportunities for experts, public sector representatives, companies, and research organisations interested in contributing to the project. Participation is possible through workshops, tool testing, feedback provision, or collaboration in the development of solutions for the public sector.

Stakeholders can engage in co-creation activities and contribute to shaping tools and approaches used in practice. Those interested in collaboration can contact the local project team at dev.ekf@tuke.sk.
